Our History
Who We Are
Starting from home Bible studies, soda shops, fire stations, gymnasiums, and the 17,000 square foot facility we lost in Hurricane Katrina... Northshore Church has come a long way. Every move has been an exciting journey, relying on our faith and seeing the hand of our Father at work. He has revealed Himself over and over to us and we stand in awe of His love and blessings. Northshore started out as a core group of 17 members meeting for weekly Bible studies in the home of our Pastor and his wife, Larry and Debbie McEwen. Just before Katrina hit, the Northshore family was averaging 375 folks in weekly worship. We know God is continuing to work in our community, just ask anyone who's life has been changed by meeting Jesus at Northshore Church.
At Northshore Church, we're changing worship, people and the world!
And the story continues...while we occupy space at Slidell Athletic Club, Northshore Church is working on a home of it’s own! We have purchased and are building out a large part of the former Schweggeman’s supermarket just off I-10. We hope to finish construction in January 2010. Just a few weeks away!!!
But Northshore Church is more than buildings and budgets, it's friends and family joining together as a community of faith, standing together on the everlasting name of Jesus Christ. If you're looking for the perfect church, we're excited to say that "we're not it!" Northshore Church is people like you and me uniting because Jesus has changed us. It's not programs, it's not music or teaching that brings us together, it's our Savior King. So come and join the family, we'd love to get to know you and love you like Jesus loves us.
